This Post Goes to Eleven

Here's a couple more pictures around the Castle Crag Remembrance Day service. These are from Brian.

Its also been pointed out several times that a few days ago, calendars and clocks hit the magical 11.11.11.11.11  thingy. This won't happen again in my lifetime, unless I meet that timelord at chucking out time outside the Coach and Horses again. In order to commemorate this event (or should it be commmmmmmmemorate?) - Here's a little relevant video fom youtube.

I presume all this new trial gear is from Vagabonds R Us. Ha.

  3. Arf Alan.....
Terry - The bag is an army surplus arctic cover - cost me £7.50 for five bags in an Army surplus store. Inside it is a 3/4 thermarest and a mountain equipment down bag. And me, obviously. It was a warm night, I had to unzip the bag till about half six when I zipped it up for a bit.

  4. Terry - Mike is an experienced hiker. If it had been cold out I am sure he'd have popped it back in again...

  6. LOL Funny buggers! :)

Bargain then Mike. How do they perform? I used an ex army one funnily enough in the Priest Hole Cave and it was saturated inside with condensation. Not the most breathable of bivvys :( Only cost me a tenner too. So, left it in cave for someone else who maybe desperate in the end

  7. Terry - The do suffer from condensation - not ideal with a down bag on a clear night.
They perform better if its really cold and are ideal if you need to sit around - winter and summer solstice overnight partying in a currick is where they really score.
I got them for bivvying with the kids - you can get two eight year olds and a dog in one bag.
