It’s a butterfly!

Just look at this little beautiful little bugger, spotted on a reccy walk around the Simonside Hills near Rothbury in Northumberland. I’ve no idea what it is, other than it’s a butterfly…  I just thought I’d share it before I do the propah blog posts.

In the meantime, it seems that Lucky has discovered that he can hear mice and voles in the grass and can leap on them and kill them. I must get him an MP3 player….

It looks like an Orange Tip Butterfly. The orange bit is on the top of the wings but the underside of the male looks like that.

It is an orange tip but I think it's a female as in the picture I've just looked at you can still see the orange tip on the underside of the male but can't on the female
